I AM A MURALIST
I USED TO BE A VANDAL BUT I NEVER GOT CAUGHT.
My work is driven by my interest in evolutionary science and the intersection between physical reality and spirituality. I've long been frustrated with how both art and science are pretty inaccessible to the general public. An art gallery seems unnecessarily intimidating with its white walls and aggressive air conditioning, whereas science museums require a lot of reading and patience. In my art I hope to spark curiosity in evolutionary science by communicating simple concepts in bright, bold illustrations. Because my work is visually lighthearted, I'm able to explore some of biology's grodiest systems like digestion and prenatal development without unnecessarily freaking anyone out. In the future, I'd love to continue to explore large scale public art. Murals are a tremendously empathetic medium in that they actively engage their community without any pretension, fine art knowledge, or gallery required.
